Artyom Zinchenko is a postdoc researcher and lecturer at the Department of Psychology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich). He earned his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig after completing his Master of Science in Cognitive Neuroscience at LMU Munich. Dr. Zinchenko's research focuses on how humans adapt to and learn from their complex environments, investigating the neural and cognitive mechanisms of visual attention, spatial memory, and contextual learning.

Using a combination of methodologies including electroencephalography (EEG), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), virtual reality (VR) and other behavioral measures, Dr. Zinchenko investigates how attention is guided by memories of past experiences and how emotional states can reshape core aspects of cognition. His studies have demonstrated both the remarkable efficiency with which we exploit prior knowledge and the potential rigidity of these representations when facing new information. Dr. Zinchenko has published extensively in high-impact journals such as Psychological Science, Cortex, Journal of Experimental Psychology, and Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience.
